my name is robin hawkes, i’m a 22 year old artist from switzerland

 

i like to think of myself as an artist who makes work that can stand on its own and try to let the work speak for itself, rather than explaining it. i enjoy the different ways people interpret it and believe that adds to its depth

photography is my primary medium, and my main interest lies in documentary photography. i’m drawn to its ability to capture real moments and freeze time. i therefore focus on authenticity and feeling above all else. i let mood guide the process and follow light and atmosphere in my images, exploring how a single shot can carry its own energy

i’ve also been writing a poetry for a while and lately started experimenting with videography too

 

i'm still discovering where these practices will lead me, but in the meantime i'm just letting my impulses guide me
